Question:
What does BIR stand for?
Answer:
Business Inventory Reconciliation (BIR) is a Veeder-Root term to describe the Tank Monitoring feature that compares tank inventory versus gallons sold and reports any discrepancies. It communicates using CDIM or EDIM
Important terms:
CDIM: Current Loop Dispenser Interface Module - Veeder-Root h/w board that exposes current loop interface between Tank Gauge and the Fusion forecourt system for BIR reporting. CDIM is typically used with a TLS350
CAB: Cable Adaptor Box (current loop to 422 converter box used in Veeder Root BIR solution) between Veeder root and fusion. Red light if connected correctly.
EDIM: Electronic Dispenser Interface Module - Veeder-Root h/w board that exposes serial interface between Tank Gauge and the Fusion forecourt system for BIR reporting. Normally TLS450, rarely TLS350 because sometimes it doesn’t work.
