Symptoms:
When installing a new SPM the 3, 6, 9 keys are not responding and cannot get into operational mode.
Environment:
When installing a replacement SPM that has 1.2.66 Firmware the mode can get set to Alphanumeric via the software when the SPM first talks to the IX code. If this occurs the values on the keypad will shift one to the left. So 1 becomes 2, 2 becomes 3 and 3 becomes g (alphanumeric). They will need to follow the following steps to recover the fueling point.
- Leave in the SPM that isn’t working in the dispenser
- Use the IX Reset tool and wipe the board
- Reload the IX software making sure that Alphanumeric is not checked in the configurator.
- Once the IX code is loaded then replace the SPM.
Note: Replacing the SPM before wiping and reloading the IX board will result in the newly replaced SPM being set to Alphanumeric and will also need to be replaced.
Cause:
To identify and recover from issues occurring when replacing a SPM when the IX board has an alphanumeric set improperly.
Resolution:
They will need to follow the following steps to recover the fueling point.
- Leave in the SPM that isn’t working in the dispenser
- Use the IX Reset tool and wipe the board
